More and more, state-of-the-art machines and devices are performing tasks that would previously have been delegated to people. However, there are still several functions that require human work, in positions that depend on creative thinking and intelligence. From there, the challenge arises: how to manage a company’s team so that everyone is aligned with its mission and objectives, and motivated to innovate?
The first step that every manager must keep in mind is that the idea of “being a boss” and just distributing tasks is outdated and no longer works. The trend now is to be a leader, which means more challenges, but more results. In this sense, the most basic orientation is: be present in the daily work of employees in order to understand their abilities and difficulties. So, it’s much easier to know how to guide and motivate them.
Then comes the second step: giving feedback. It’s no use insisting with your team that the expected results are not being achieved if you don’t point out what are the mistakes that are in the way and how they can do it differently. Here, there is a private conversation with each member, respecting individuality, and a more general conversation, so that ideas align, and everyone is aware of what needs to be changed.
Likewise, investing in those who work with you has several advantages. Training and courses are essential for not only adding more value and quality to the company, but for the team to feel valued and motivated to give their best. After all, you are betting on them.
